Introducing our Middle School Student Government

We are excited to introduce our inaugural Middle School Student Government!

As the newly elected leaders of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student body, we can’t wait to see what impactful changes they will bring to the school community. They are each ready to use their voices to make improvements at the school and develop their leadership skills.

When asked why she wanted to be a part of Student Government, Valeria, 8th Grade President, shared, “I have a strong voice and a desire to use it.” Valeria and her fellow student government leaders are particularly excited to partner with Middle School leadership and serve as student advocates.

During their first convening, the leaders worked together to select a winner of the Hispanic Heritage Month Poster Contest. Collectively, they reviewed all 27 contenders and examined the use of color, Hispanic heritage representation, and creativity level. They patiently listened to each other’s opinions, and when it came time to pick a winner, they were clearly proud of their first official ruling in their new roles.

Kahlil, 6th Grade President, knows this is only the beginning of his journey as a leader and even expressed a desire “to become President one day.” We cannot wait to see what they will accomplish for the school and how they will unify the middle school community.
