English Language Learners
The Meridian academic program supports our English language learners through an inclusive and integrated support system. Meridian has six English Language Learner (ELL) teachers to support our students learning English as a second language. We ensure that each student has a personalized plan to stay on track with their grade level curriculum, ensure appropriate accommodations, and build their English vocabulary.
Meridian uses a full inclusion model for students with special needs. During the school year, special education teachers provide a continuum of services, ranging from in class supports to out of class services, as well as resource room access. Teachers receive ongoing professional development to aid in the implementation of inclusion, such as modifications to student work and instructional best practices, as well as specialized techniques and strategies.
Our team of full-time Special Education professionals provide the extra guidance, intervention, and assessment for our identified students. Other team members include a Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, School Psychologist, Counselors, Instructional Aides, and Behavioral Support staff.

Dear Meridian Family,
I am delighted to serve you as the Director of Student Support Services here at Meridian where we are cultivating an environment of connection, excitement for learning, and genuine love for children. Together with the leadership team, I look forward to providing our scholars with an excellent school experience.
I have worked in education for the last 10 years and am excited to continue advocating for and supporting children within our school community. In my work I have been challenged to promote and develop a culture for scholars that values inclusiveness and support of all children both academically and emotionally. My passion for education has spanned from work as a classroom teacher, Learning Specialist, Instructional Coach, School Administrator, and Special Education Advocate. As a Washington, D.C. native, I am happy to continue this work here at Meridian.
In partnership with instructional staff as well as student families, my goal is to ensure that all teachers are proactively supported through various intervention systems. I will also work to facilitate consistent teacher and parent communication, and to address student needs in all areas of development. I am eager to meet students and families to begin this journey together!
